Responsibilities: Summary The primary responsibility of this position is assisting the Business Development Manager in growing the Ambulance marketing segments. The Marketing Representative I will have a defined set of objectives related to the growth of an existing book of business, including new business submissions, renewing existing business, and cultivating profitable new agency relationships. Main
Responsibilities:- Responsible for new business production, including achievement of submission, quote, and premium objectives for the Ambulance product. - In addition to new business production, responsible for working with an external agent and broker base to renew a book of in-force business with an appropriate retention ratio; this requires the incumbent to work seamlessly between internal underwriters and external agents in order to qualify sales situations, communicate expectations, deliver sales quotes, and bind business. - Handle broker/agency review and analysis. This includes establishing and communicating expectations and measuring actual results/activities versus expectations. Communicate findings on a regular basis; take corrective actions, as necessary. - Responsible for proactive prospecting of new accounts with both brokers/agents and insureds to achieve specific production objectives. - Create and develop new marketing ideas/materials, as needed, to increase sales and educate others about National Interstate's products. - Attend daily underwriting meetings to determine a specific strategy for all accounts for which the incumbent is assigned. - Handles special projects, as assigned. - Other duties and projects, as assigned.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university, or one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience - P and C License required, or must be willing to obtain within first 90 days of employment - Excellent oral and written communicator. - Ability to exert influence, both internally and with external brokers and agents, is a critical skill in this position. - Must be comfortable presenting in front of groups and speaking in meetings. - Ability to apply common sense and problem solving skills during situations that often have no readily identifiable and/or concrete solution. - Must be able to analyze sales situations with several variables and decide on the best course of action. - Travel Requirements: 1-10% MYK62683JREstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
