Responsibilities:
Summary
Overall responsibility for federal, state and local tax compliance, financial reporting, both GAAP/SEC and Statutory, tax research and planning, as well as special projects.
Main
Responsibilities:
Responsible for accounting for income taxes (SFAS NO. 109 and SSAP 10R/101). Responsible for SEC/GAAP and Statutory reporting income tax footnotes. Responsible for the completion of federal, state (including premium tax filings) and local tax returns including all related analysis and support. Responsible for use and property tax functions. Representative on any IRS and State income tax audits to ensure that tax positions taken are properly supported and represented. Perform tax research and strategic tax planning to ensure business decisions are made with full consideration of their related tax impacts. Assist in identifying ways to minimize tax liabilities. Maintain current knowledge of pending authoritative regulatory and accounting pronouncements related to the tax area and take the lead in researching and documenting certain accounting positions. Supervise professional staff by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. Liaison with operating management on tax issues. Ensure that appropriate internal controls are in place over accounting for income taxes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Accounting, advanced credentials such as a master's degree in business administration or taxation a plus. Ten years of related tax experience, preferably with a national accounting firm or corporate tax department. CPA and Big 4 background a plus. Insurance or financial services tax experience preferred. Application experience with SFAS 109 and FIN 48. Previous experience researching complex tax issues and presenting them in a concise manner. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of tax research tools, tax preparation software. Prior management experience Must be able to work independently and within a team environment.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
